Girls’ Day Out

Girls’ Day Out
Ladies! We all know what GNO is right?! If you don’t, that means you need one! Here’s the definition according to Google: Girls Night Out: An evening spent outside of the home celebrating, having fun, etc, esp late into the evening.
GNO is awesome because it is dedicated time spent with your best friends. The downside…GNO usually results in a minimum two-day hangover. So in an effort to avoid late night hours and feeling like death, I swapped the Night for Day and put together a list of fun things to do with your girls in Morristown. Alcohol is optional and not required. But if you do decide to add some mimosas to your GDO, go for it. And if you’re like me, day-drinking, followed by a nap/early bedtime usually results in skipping the hangover completely!

So here is my Girls’ Day Out Guide in Morristown:

Start with a group workout. This is fun AND good for you!
Taking Form located inside Headquarters Plaza, offers classes and private lessons in Aerial Yoga, Acro Yoga, Aerial Hammock, Aerial Hoop, dance and more! I tried this for the first time during the Morris Moves Fitness Crawl and it was so much fun! Imagine you and your besties suspended from the ceiling by brightly colored silks?! Hello post-worthy photos!
Another great group workout to consider is taking a spin class at Ride+Reflect. Classes are only 45 minutes and between the awesome instructors and music, you and your girls will be ready and energized to start your GDO.
Brunch. OK, all that working out has worked up your appetite.
There are a bunch of great places to grab a bite and catch up. Some suggestions are South+Pine (byob), Stirling Tavern, and The Artist Baker (if the weather permits you can dine outside in the courtyard, it’s a hidden gem back there).
Make something. Glassworks is fun for all ages. They are a fused glass studio and you can make anything from jewelry to cheese boards. Just pick your project and get creative! You have to come back in about a week to pick it up once its been fired, so its the perfect excuse to get together again!
Learn something. Even if you and your gals are not a bunch of history buffs this is still fun. And these activities are self-guided so you can stay as long or as little as you want. So grab your tribe and head to the Morris Musuem or check out one of Morristown’s historical sites like Washington’s Headquarters and Museum or Macculloch Hall Historic Museum and Gardens. Frelinghuysen Arboretum is absolutely beautiful if you get a nice day and you can have your own little impromtu photo shoot or do a scavenger hunt!
Pamper up. You had a long, fun day out. Why not end with a blowout and some makeup? Blowout in Morristown provides both and their prices won’t break the bank. Be careful though… Blowout will have you looking so good that GDO might turn into GNO…
Other ideas for a GDO include…doing an Escape Room, located on the corner of Speedwell and Cattano, or going to MPAC and seeing a show or comedian. They always have an amazing line-up of performers. Check out their calendar here.

Have fun!
