It’s a Pizza Party and Wine is Invited
Pizza and Wine. Honestly, the two are a match made in victual heaven and deserve to be celebrated. And celebrating this divine pair is exactly what Cambridge Wines set out to do during their Second Annual Pizza Party.
The party took place at The Godfather of Morristown, conveniently located directly next door to Cambridge Wines. If you’ve never been to either of these establishments you are seriously depriving your palate. Speaking of palates, one of the amazing things about Cambridge Wines is that it doesn’t matter if you have a trained palate or can’t tell a Pinot Grigio from a Pinot Noir, they’ll help you find the perfect bottle.

Finding the perfect bottle is how the idea for a Pizza Party developed, or should I say fermented.

See what I did there 🙂 One of the questions Cambridge constantly get asked is, “What’s a good bottle of wine to go with pizza?” Their answer: Let’s host a Pizza Pairing Wine Party.”
The party started with some bubbles. Is there any other way to start a party? The bubbles Cambridge Wines chose were the Isotta Manzoni Sparkling Rose NV. This selection perfectly complemented the antipasto that was served.
Next up was the Fontezoppa Verdicchio di Matelica 2017 and the Poderi Arcangelo Chianti Colli Senesi 2016 served with Arugula Salad and Fried Calamari. FUN FACT: Verdicchio means “little green one.” Leading the wine talk with fun facts and pairing notes were Sandra Zotti, wine educator and consultant and Roberto Scarpati, Director of Brands for SoilAir Selection. These two not only provided wine education, they also brought energy, enthusiasm and passion to the party.

Time for pizza.

Godfather of Morristown served assorted pizzas that were paired with Fontezoppa Vernaccia Nera Carpignano and Braida Barbera D’asti Montebruna 2016. Enter the victual heaven I mentioned earlier.

After this event, I don’t think I can ever eat pizza without wine.

Now what’s a party without dessert? The last pairing was Fruitella Pie and Strawberry Cannoli with Braida Moscato 2017. This sweet wine was the perfect match to these delectable desserts. If you have a sweet tooth like me, you won’t be disappointing by this duo.
Like all parties, the night eventually comes to an end. But for more information about the wines served, tasting notes and price point please contact Cambridge Wines at 973-984-WINE.
