How do you relax? For many, including myself, going to a spa is the epitome of relaxation. From the moment you walk in, the music, aromatherapy, and decor transports you to another world. This is exactly how it is at b.jones organic spa.
I had never been to b.jones before and was super curious to try them out, especially since the words "Organic Spa" are literally in their name. To be honest, I had never thought of a spa to be anything but organic. BIG MISTAKE! So the fact that b.jones called this out was equally interesting to me and also alarming...it made me wonder what sort of products I had been allowing spas to use on me in the past. Well, I was about to find out...
I booked a b.facial, which included a skin analysis, enzyme peel, extraction (if needed), mask, moisturizer AND a hand and foot scrub! Several products were used during my b.facial and all of them were explained to me in depth, including the brand. The brand b.jones uses is Eminence Organic Skin Care, a certified B-Corp, that provides products that are free of parabens, animal by products, propylene glycol, sodium lauryl sulfates, harmful colorants and fragrances, mineral oils, petroleum, and other harsh cosmetic chemicals. My full-time career is in the field of dermatology, so I am well aware of the impact these ingredients can have on the skin, many of them are known and reported irritants! I was so happy that b.jones took the time to not only explain the products they use, but also the ingredients AND the company's philosophy. PS. Eminence plants a tree for every product sold. How amazing is that?!
At the conclusion of my b.facial, or really total body treatment, (don't forget this facial comes with a hand AND foot scrub!) I was:
1. Super relaxed and 2. Super curious to learn more about the Eminence brand and conduct my due diligence for any future spa experiences.
At least I no longer have to worry about what's going on my body at b.jones! Check them out and let me know what you think! They are located on South Street but slightly hidden. (You have to use the Pine Street entrance in the back).
Also, if you know of any other organic, ethical brands of skin care, please share! I'm thinking of doing a future post on where in Morristown to find these products!
