UPDATE: Salt & Sauna at Chambers Center by PALM Health
BLOG UPDATE: October 3rd was my second visit to The Chambers Center by PALM Health. (Read below for the full write up of my first experience.)
On this most recent visit, this time – I brought friends! 🙂 We experienced the salt room which was my second time, and we tried out the Infrared Sauna.
We (my business bestie, Addy & Bloom and her sister Lizz) spent 25 minutes in PALM’s infrared sauna which is heated to approx 120-140 degrees Fahrenheit. Although this range sounds hot AF, infrared sauna is actually heated lower than traditional saunas. According to PALM’s website: Infrared technology penetrates deeply to help relieve tension, relax muscles, and release toxins. The benefits of infrared sauna sessions include skin purification, pain relief, improved circulation, relaxation, weight loss, blood pressure reduction, and enhanced cell health.
How was it? Well you definitely still sweat but I enjoyed it way more than a traditional sauna. I didn’t have that suffocating, get me out of here feeling that I normally do.
After our toxin release in the sauna, it was time for some salt AKA Halotherapy. Inside of the salt room ionized salt particles are pumped and circulated into the air. The effect is instant relaxation. We stayed in there for 45 minuets and could have stayed forever. At PALM you can actually rent the salt room out for a private group session. Would you be interested in this? I’m thinking of doing a giveaway!

about the Chambers Center by PALM Health…
Earlier this month I had the opportunity to tour the new Chambers Center by PALM Health. In case you don’t know what the former Chambers Center was, here’s a brief history:
The Chambers Center for Well Being was initially opened in 2014 as part of Atlantic Health System’s integrative medicine program. It is located at 435 South Street in Morristown. The Center was designed to provide a holistic approach to health and wellness. Recently renovated and partnered with PALM Health, the Center re-opened as Chambers Center by PALM Health.
PALM is the acronym for Personalized Advanced Lifestyle Medicine. PALM Health’s award-winning health and wellness model was originally introduced in St. Louis, Missouri, where its flagship center is located. PALM offers a comprehensive range of membership-based lifestyle, naturopathic, wellness therapies, coaching, and medical services designed to transform lives. PALM’s highly experienced and qualified team includes certified physicians and mental health professionals with specialties in functional medicine, primary care, heart health, neurology, rheumatology, weight management, cancer support, anti-inflammation and detoxification, and psychiatry. PALM’s team approach goes beyond treating medical conditions; it is a highly personalized preventive care, wellness, spa, and lifestyle experience.

So now that you have the background and are up to date, let’s dive into my experience at PALM.

I was invited in for a private tour by Anney Perrine, Director of Membership. In roughly 2 hours, Anney guided me through PALM’s approach to personalized medicine and well-being in their state-of-the-art facilities which takes on a whole-person approach to medicine. At PALM, care goes beyond medicine to include coaching, training, body, beauty and a multitude of different wellness therapies.
The 20,000sf space includes a fitness center, yoga studio, demo kitchen, cafe, massage rooms, wellness rooms, cryotherapy, infrared sauna, salt room and more!
Our first stop was The Café. The food served in The Café is organic and locally sourced which I absolutely love. They also serve Boxwood Coffee (not in Morristown, but hey, their coffee is really good!)
We ventured on to tour the entire center, meeting staff ranging from doctors to life coaches, acupuncturists to dietitians. I got to sit in the zero-gravity chairs which are used to make visitors to the center comfortable as they are getting vitamin infusions or getting blood-work drawn for testing. Everything here is designed to make you feel at-ease.

One of the things that really stood out to me about the center is that when you schedule a consult it is 75-minutes long!

The staff at PALM takes the time to understand not only your medical history but also your lifestyle so that they can design a plan personalized for you and just you. That plan can include access to the medical clinic, fitness center, educational seminars, and à la carte wellness services. What kind of wellness services? Halotherapy is one of them and I got to experience it during my visit!

But what even is Halotherapy?

Halotherapy is an alternative type of medicine that involves breathing in ionized salt particles. You know that feeling you get when you’re on the beach? You know, the one when all your worries melt away and nothing else matters? That’s what being in the Salt Room was like. A quick Google search will reveal the possible benefits of Halotherapy including stress management, insomnia, improved respiratory conditions and the promotion of relaxation. You can access the Salt Room solo, attend a guided mediation session or reserve it for a private group experience.

So who comes to PALM?

Everyone. Whether you are suffering from a chronic illness, want to understand your health better or just need to re-charge; PALM is the place to go.
There are many ways to experience the facility, including membership. Memberships can range from one day to annually. Interested in experiencing PALM? Their Navigators can help you determine what would be the best option based on your needs and goals. Contact them directly at 973-971-6301 and please mention you heard through Ms. Morristown! 🙂
OK, before we go, let’s head back to the Café where I grabbed a snack for the road. I decided to try the Glow Smoothie which included collagen, banana, mango, goji berries, spinach, cucumber, cilantro leaves, ginger, turmeric, lemon, coconut butter, almond milk, AND bee pollen. It was super tasty and left me feeling good and…glowing! I definitely recommend grabbing one of these during your visit!
