Farmers Market Finds

Farmers Market Finds
It’s not just veggies! This post will tell you everything you can find at the farmers market but the best way to experience the market is to just go!
When can you go: Every Sunday, NOW thru November 19th from 8:30am-2:00pm.
What to bring with you: Cash, a smile and a large bag to carry all your goods home in. 🙂
If you haven’t been to the farmers market this summer, well, what are you waiting for? It is an amazing resource to have access to fresh, local foods every week! Just another reason to love Morristown.
During my Sunday trip to the Morristown Farmers Market, my first stop was at the Alstede Farms stand. There, I scored a HUGE head of romaine, a generous bundle of scallions and some fresh garlic for a whopping… $5.00. So MYTHBUSTER…The prices at the farmers market are beyond reasonable. Plus you are supporting local farms with all of your purchases.
Next stop was Pickle-Licious. But on the way there I had to stop and snap some pics of the fresh cut sunflowers, they were too beautiful to just pass by.
At Pickle-Licious, you absolutely have to take advantage of the free samples. Take several toothpicks and sample everything from olives to garlic to multiple pickle varieties. I took home a large container of my favorite and hard to find olive variety, Cerignolas, for only $10.00.
Last stop on my way out, was at Tassot Apiaries to score some local honey. I’ve read about the health benefits of local honey for a while now and wanted to try it for myself. For only $7.00 I bought a beautiful glass jar of local wildflower honey and a cute drizzle stick to go with it for only $2.50.
So my Sunday damage at the market totaled $24.50. At most grocery chains I would have spent way more for the above items. I can’t wait to make meals this week with my farm finds and please share your own farm finds with the #msmorristown #morristownfarmersmarket and #farmfinds.
I’m looking forward to see what I’ll pick up next week at the Morristown Farmers Market because each Sunday is different! That is the benefit and excitement of shopping fresh and shopping local!
